A Strange Discovery

Isabelle had always been drawn to the unknown. As a journalist, she thrived on uncovering mysteries. When she heard rumors of a house in the outskirts of town that cast no shadow, she knew she had to see it for herself.

Driving down the winding roads of Black Hollow, Isabelle found the house exactly where the locals had described. It stood in eerie silence, bathed in the golden hues of sunset—yet, as the trees and fences around it stretched their long shadows across the ground, the house itself stood without one.

A shiver ran down her spine.

The First Night

Determined to investigate, Isabelle entered the house. Dust coated the furniture, and cobwebs draped the chandeliers like ancient curtains. Yet, something felt off. The air was heavy, thick with a presence she couldn’t define.

She set up her camera and flashlight. As she explored, she found old photographs hanging on the walls—images of families, all staring blankly, their faces blurred. The dust-covered piano in the corner had keys pressed down as if someone had played it recently.

Then she saw it.

Her shadow—elongated and stretching across the floor—while the furniture, walls, and even the chandelier had none.

The Mirror’s Secret

In the master bedroom stood a large, antique mirror. It was the only thing in the house that reflected light strangely, almost as if it absorbed the darkness around it. Isabelle stepped closer, running her fingers over its cold, silver frame.

Her reflection blinked.

A terrified woman staring at a sinister reflection in the mirror inside the shadowless house

She staggered back, heart pounding. It wasn’t her imagination. Her reflection was smiling—though her lips hadn’t moved.

“Leave,” it whispered, though no sound came from the mirror.

A Living Nightmare

Terrified, Isabelle turned to run but stopped as she saw movement from the hallway. A figure—a woman in a tattered black dress—stood there. Her face was hollow, her eyes sunken and lifeless.

“No shadow means no escape,” the woman said in a voice that sent chills through Isabelle.

The lights flickered. The walls trembled. Shadows began creeping towards her, though there was no source of light to cast them.

She ran, heart hammering in her chest. The doors slammed shut on their own, the windows vanished into darkness. She was trapped.

The Final Revelation

As the shadows swallowed her, Isabelle realized the truth—the house did not cast a shadow because it was a shadow. A void, a rift between reality and something far worse.

With one final scream, she was pulled into the darkness. The house remained silent, still standing without a shadow, waiting for the next visitor foolish enough to step inside.
